With his instrument, the clarinetist Szilárd Benes is constantly searching for new sounds. His music can be understood as a musical response to Katherine Bradford’s perspective on how communities are lived. For Bradford, music is a language to articulate commonality, which can be an essential tool for community building.

While pushing the boundaries of music, collaboration with other composers and musicians is pivotal to Benes’ work. In his acoustic solo concert at HALLE FÜR KUNST, Benes will perform in interaction with the monumental figures of Bradford’s works. Oscillating between composition and improvisation, Szilárd Benes will not only try to capture Bradford’s American Odyssey, but also integrate the audience to become part of his own musical journey.

The concert takes place in cooperation with impuls and is free of charge.
